What is online tuition?
Online tuition is the process of a tutor teaching a student remotely using electronic, internet-ready devices in order to communicate and work collaboratively. Tutors will typically use internet based communication software such as Skype and collaborative workspaces such as Google documents. The communication software allows students and tutors to communicate in an audio-visual capacity whilst the collaborative workspaces allow the tutors to display information, track progress and assess the learning of the student.
What do I need for online tuition?
All a student needs is a computer with a webcam and our online learning platform software. With this, they can access one of our tutors from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
Online tuition allows students who are too far away to benefit from the services of our tutors at the click of a button. This service is particularly useful for students who want access to some of the best tutors available, all of whom are qualified teachers. These include students around Malaysia and international.
Some of our online tuition are intensive holiday tuitions as part of an ongoing process or as a one-off.
How does online tuition work?
Initial placement from the enquiry stage to connecting you with a tutor is exactly the same as with home tuition.
Instead of a tutor coming to your house, tuition takes place using an interactive online ‘whiteboard’ in conjunction with live video and audio streaming. The online ‘whiteboard’ is a learning platform where files and images can be uploaded and viewed in real time by both tutor and student. Both parties can then write, type, highlight over the file or image at the same time. By running a software with the online whiteboard, the student can speak face-to-face with the tutor making the experience a very interactive one.
